Billings, Mont. - The Frontier Conference regular season for golf came to an end Tuesday with the final round of the Rocky Mountain College Invite. The University of Providence men and women each closed the season with most golfers improving their scores since the first tournament of the year. Connor Mora finished the year with three straight rounds in the 70's shooting 77-73-70 to finish tied for 21st, shooting under par in his final Frontier regular season event. Head Coach Spencer Williams was happy about the way Mora finished, "I am super excited for him to finish like that. He has been a great leader and a big part of Argo golf."
Other Argo men in the field included Trey Sharp who shot a three-round total of 237 (+24) to tie for 27th. JP Briney finished with a total of 258 (+45) with three rounds in the 80's, Craig Patera shot a second straight 90 after an opening round 95 to finish with a total of 275 (+62) and Trey Wasson also shot three rounds in the 90's to finish at 286 (+73). Providence finished seventh overall in Billings.
On the women's side, Kielar Jones backed up an opening round 81 with an 84 to finish tied for 14th with a score of 23 over par. Kate Murack was +35, Eve Knox +106 and Isabell Sardenas finished +119. Williams was pleased with Jones's performance, "Kielar came in with a Top 15 finish to end the year strong. Like Connor, Kielar has led by example and strong work ethic." The Argo women finished the Rocky tourney sixth overall.
Providence will now prepare for the Frontier Conference Golf Championships to be held at Reflection Bay Golf Course in Hendersen, Nevada April 16th-19th, 2023.
