Billings, Mont. - Montana Western jumped out to a quick start in the first set and never looked back sweeping past the University of Providence at the Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament Thursday. Bella Thompson recorded 24 assists in the loss, the second straight for the Argos after a season high four match win streak last week. Head Coach Arunas Duda says that Montana Western got off to such a strong start, the Argos were battling from behind all match, "It was definitely not our day today. We started the match a little sluggish and could not gain any momentum throughout. Credit Western for the way they came out because their energy was hard to match. This was not our best performance, we will do better, and we will be better."

The Argos totaled 31 kills with 18 errors, finishing with a hitting percentage of .110. The Bulldogs spread the love in the match with two players with eight kills each and two others with seven, hitting .261 overall.

Providence gets a chance to turn things around on Friday when the Argos take on Rocky Mountain College at 11 am followed by a match with Carroll College at 5 pm. You can watch both matches and view live stats at www.upargos.com.
