Great Falls, Mont. - Fires across the west caused last Sunday's match at Whitworth to be canceled, so the University of Providence women's soccer team has had an extra week of practice to prepare for its big match Saturday at Rocky Mountain College. The Argos fell in a friendly two weeks ago at home to the Battlin' Bears, 5-0 and are looking to show that that game was a one off.

The match in Billings opens Cascade Conference play for both teams with postseason aspirations underway. In Great Falls two weeks ago, Halle Lebert scored twice for Rocky Mountain which outshot Providence 18-4 including an 8-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Argos will try to put more pressure on the Rocky defense and put the ball in the back of the net. Head Coach Heather Blandford says the team is ready to play, "After our game being canceled last weekend due to air quality (in Spokane), we are excited to get back out there and see how much we have improved as a team. We have spent the last couple of weeks really focusing on limiting mistakes and making better decisions on the ball. Overall, I am proud of our effort and determination to get better each training session. We are in a good place physically and mentally and are ready to compete."

Providence has been outscored 12-1 through the first three matches, hoping to turn things around to start CCC (Cascade Collegiate Conference) play. Saturday's match begins at 1 pm and will be the first of 12 league contests for the Argos (0-3).
