Great Falls, Mont. - The University of Providence snapped an 11-match losing streak to Rocky Mountain College last week playing the Battlin' Bears to a scoreless draw. The tie came two weeks after being shut out by Rocky 5-0 and Providence proved itself after two solid weeks of practice. Now, the Argos look to build on that momentum as Cascade Conference play continues Friday and Saturday with home matches against The Evergreen State College and Northwest University.
Providence upped the pressure on the offensive side of the pitch and played well defensively, including standout play in goal from Reilyn Davis. The junior from Kennewick, Washington stopped all 7 shots on goal she faced. Davis, normally a mid-fielder, stepped into the role and stepped up.
The Geoducks are 0-4-1 on the season including an 0-2 start to CCC (Cascade Collegiate Conference) play last weekend and have been outscored 11-5. Providence has a 12-1 goals against differential but is playing on its home field and hopes to use that to make a change.
The match on Friday against Evergreen starts at 1 pm. For live stats and to view online, visit www.upargos.com.
