Great Falls, Mont. - It was an up and down weekend for the University of Providence women's soccer team at home as the Argos picked up a big win over The Evergreen State College 2-0, before falling the next day to Northwest University 4-0. Providence used goals from Dani Chang and Dani Waialeale in the win over the Geoducks but struggled to find consistency against the Eagles. This weekend, the Argos head west for Cascade Collegiate Conference road matches against Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech.

It is the first of two full weekends of travel with Providence looking to pick up two wins and six points against teams bookending the Argos in the CCC standings. Southern Oregon has an identical 1-1-1 record and four points and is led by Sarah Mauk who has scored two goals and sits eighth all-time in Raider's history. Goalkeeper Jessie Selby has two shutouts this season. The Raiders are 2-4-2 overall and playing at home for the first time in 2022. Saturday's match at OIT will be a match against a team that has tallied five points this fall and stands 1-0-2 in the Cascade, 2-1-3 overall. Madi Miller leads the Lady Owls with four goals scored on 15 shots. Sydni Nakamura has not allowed a goal in 239 consecutive minutes. At home, OIT has been dominating this millennium. Oregon Tech is 101-56-15 since 2000 and has not suffered a home loss in five years. Providence will look to snap the Owls 35 match unbeaten streak at home.

Providence is led by Waialeale who has found the back of the net twice this season and has two of the three goals scored by the Argos. Defensively, the Argos have allowed 16 goals through six matches. Head Coach Heather Blandford says this will be another tough weekend of play, "This is the first of two tough road weekends against top level opponents, and we are excited to compete against some of the best teams in the CCC. Our focus is on continued growth and development and finding the consistency and mental toughness to compete at our best level in back-to-back games."

Both weekend matches start at 1 PM MDT on Friday and Saturday and can be watched along with live stats at www.upargos.com.
