GREAT FALLS, Mont. - A cold shooting first half cost the Providence women in a 67-43 loss to No. 20 Rocky Mountain College Saturday afternoon in Frontier Conference basketball.
The Argos hit on just 2 of 20 from the field in the first half and trailed 30-13 at the break as the Battlin' Bears finished the half shooting over 44%.
In the second half, the Argo women played nearly even scoring 30 points on 11 of 28 finishing the game 13-48 (27.1%). Kenedy Cartwright led the Argos with 15 points and six rebounds, Brooklyn Harn and Maddy Dixon each scored eight with Reed Hazard adding six points and a team-high seven rebounds. Hazard and Kolby Pimperton had two steals and two assists each.
Morgan Baird scored a game-high 20 points with seven rebounds for Rocky (13-5, 5-1) which shot 28-61 (45.9%) and outrebounded Providence 36-26.
The Argos (11-8, 1-5) have dropped four straight and return to the court Thursday hosting MSU-Northern at the McLaughlin Center.
