GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence women's soccer program fell 7-0 to Carroll College Monday afternoon.

The Fighting Saints (11-1-4) struck first when a corner kick found Avery Lambourne who headed it into the back of the net.

A few minutes later, Carroll would take control of the loose ball in front of the Argo net and beat the goalkeeper to extend their lead to two.

The Argos (2-12-2) had an opportunity midway through the first half, but freshman Shea Waters' shot was saved by the goalkeeper.

UP would pressure late in the first half but were unable to get a good look as sophomore Ernestina S. Ofori shot was blocked by the Carroll defense.

Carroll would add five goals in the second half to extend their lead to seven.

With five minutes left in the match, junior Mel Alvarado-Lopez had a chance but her shot went off the crossbar and the rebound attempt by freshman Shea Waters was batted away by the diving goalie.

Despite the Argos threatening late, they were unable to capitalize as they fell 7-0.
