GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence women's soccer program fell 7-0 to #16 The College of Idaho Friday afternoon.
The Yotes (10-1-1) struck first in the 4th minute when an Argo turnover was intercepted by Eden Makaafi and she beat the goalkeeper to give The College of Idaho the lead.
The Argos (2-7-1) had a chance a few minutes later but sophomore
Ernestina S. Ofori's shot went high of the crossbar.
The College of Idaho would add to their lead in the 22
nd minute when Abbi Roubidoux went down the sideline for Eden Makaafi who extended the Yotes lead to two. Â
The College of Idaho would add another two goals at the end of the first half to take a 4-0 lead into the break.
The Yotes came out of halftime pressuring the Argos and were able to squeeze a shot by the UP goaltender to make it 5-0.
The College of Idaho added another two goals in the second half to take the match 7-0. Â
The Argos return to action Saturday, Oct. 7 when they host Eastern Oregon University. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Argo Field. Â
