GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence women's basketball program hosts the Holiday Inn Classic on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4. UP will face Northwest University on Nov. 3 and will play Corban University on Nov. 4. Both games will take place in the McLaughlin Center.
Head coach
Bill Himmelberg on this weekend's matchups stated, "I'm looking forward to getting back in the gym after our great win last week. We have lots to improve on and am excited to see how our team is able to implement the adjustments we made throughout the week."
Last Time Out
The Argos upset #4 Indiana Wesleyan 69-62. Despite being down five at halftime, UP outscored the Wildcats 21-10 in the fourth quarter to take home the victory. Graduate transfer
Ashlee Maldonado led the way for the Argos with 21pts, 8ast, 7reb, and four steals. Freshman
Keanna Salave'a added 14 points of her own and seniors
Kolby Pimperton and
Maddy Dixon each added nine.
Season Leaders
Maldonado is the Argos leading scorer and through one game with 21pts. Maldonado also has the most assists with eight. Sophomore
McKenna Reggear leads the way with eight rebounds and Pimperton has six steals. Â
Northwest University
The Eagles are 0-0 so far this season and will play their first game of the season on Nov. 2 against MSU-Northern. Last season the Argos defeated Northwest University 68-55 in their lone matchup.
Corban University
The Warriors are 1-0 so far this season after defeating Willamette University 64-57 on Oct. 28. Corban will face MSU-Northern on Nov. 3 prior to taking on the Argos on Nov. 4.
How to Watch
The Argos will tip off each game this weekend at 5 p.m. in the McLaughlin Center.
