Argos Host The Frontier Conference Tournament Friday

GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence volleyball program hosts the Frontier Conference Tournament on Nov. 10-11. The first match of the tournament begins at 11 a.m. in the McLaughlin Center.

Last Time Out
The Argos picked up a five-set victory over Montana Western on Nov. 4. Junior Nina Janjic led both teams with 15 kills and sophomore Bella Thompson had 23 assists. Defensively, senior Taylor Christensen had 27 digs which moved her into third all-time in career digs in Argo Athletics history.

Stat Leaders
The Argos lead attacker so far this season has been Janjic with 286 kills placing her 6th in the Frontier Conference. UP also has two setters in the top 10 for assists in junior Nati Slazynska with 584 placing her fourth and Thompson with 437 placing her sixth. Defensively, Christensen has tallied 494 digs and senior Zoe Naugle, who has 87 total blocks, are also both fourth in the conference, respectively. 

Montana Tech
The Orediggers were ranked #11 in the final NAIA coaches top 25 rankings and are 2-0 versus the Argos this year. Montana Tech has two of the top three attackers in the Frontier Conference in Olivia Muir with 347 and Maureen Jessop with 339. The Orediggers finished 22-4 and 8-2 in conference to come into the Frontier Conference Tournament with the #1 seed.

Rocky Mountain College
The Battlin' Bears finished their season 19-11 and 6-4 in conference giving them the #3 seed coming into the Frontier Conference Tournament. UP and Rocky Mountain College split their two matchups this year with UP winning 3-1 on Oct. 5 and falling 3-2 on Nov. 1. RMC will face Carroll College in the first round of the tournament on Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.

Montana Western
The Bulldogs finished their season 18-6 and 5-4 in conference giving them the #4 seed coming into the Frontier Conference Tournament. UP is 2-1 versus Montana Western with their lone loss coming in the Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament on Sept. 15. Montana Western will face MSU-Northern in the first round of the tournament on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.

MSU-Northern
The Skylights finished their season 12-13 and 4-6 in conference giving them the #5 seed coming into the Frontier Conference Tournament. UP is 1-2 versus MSUN this season, picking up a five-set victory in Havre on Sept. 27.

Carroll College
The Fighting Saints finished their season 5-21 and 0-10 in conference giving them the #6 seed coming into the Frontier Conference Tournament. Carroll has not won a match since defeating UC Merced in five sets on Sept. 1. UP is 3-0 versus Carroll so far this year and have only dropped two sets over the three victories.

Follow the Argos
The Argos will face the top remaining seed after the first round at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 in the McLaughlin Center.
