CHANDLER, Ariz. – The University of Providence men's basketball program fell 96-94 to #10 Arizona Christian Monday night.

The Argos (6-5) scored the first points of the game when senior
Davien Harris-Williams found senior
Sam Vining for a three-pointer.

The Firestorm (9-3) would answer immediately with back-to-back layups to take their first lead of the game 4-3.
Both teams would trade baskets over the next six minutes but a 10-0 run behind three threes gave Arizona Christian an 18-13 lead.
UP did not go away responding with a three by junior
Drayton Caoile and Vining as well as a pair of layups by senior
Jake Olsen to retake the lead 30-24.
Neither team was able to gain a lead by more than five the rest of the half as the Firestorm went into the break leading by one. Harris-Williams led the way for the Argos with 10 points and 7 assists in the first half.
Neither team was able to score in the first two minutes of the second half, but a layup by senior
Jaylin Reed retook the lead for the Argos 48-47.
Despite a layup by ACU, a layup by Olsen and a jumper by Reed extended the Argo lead to four.
UP continued to build on their lead with a 5-0 run by senior
Caleb Currington including a fastbreak layup and a three-pointer to make it 60-56.
The Firestorm would hit a three to cut the lead to one, but a 9-0 run behind layups from junior
Kenny Curtis and Olsen increased the Argo lead to 10 halfway through the second half.
ACU would slowly shorten the deficit over the next five minutes but a three by Vining kept the Argos ahead by five.

The Firestorm would take the lead with a minute remaining, but a tip in by Harris-Williams sent the game to overtime tied at 85.

In OT, UP was able to gain a five-point lead behind a three by Curtis and a layup by Harris-Williams, but a pair of layups by ACU tied the game at 92 with a minute and a half remaining.

The Firestorm would hit the go-ahead bucket with eight seconds left and despite a last effort shot at the buzzer, the Argos fell to #10 Arizona Christian 96-94 in overtime.

The Argos will be back in action Dec. 19 for the Cactus Classic finale. Tip off versus Ottawa University Arizona is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (MST) at the Coyote Center. Â
