GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's basketball program defeated Alberta-Augustana 74-39 Friday afternoon.Â
The Argos (8-2) scored the first basket of the game when
McKenna Reggear grabbed the defensive rebound and took it all the way to the hoop for a layup.

Kolby Pimperton and
Ashlee Maldonado would extend the Argo lead to six, but the Vikings (5-7) would answer with a three-pointer to cut the lead in half.
UP would take control the rest of the first quarter going on a 10-2 run to lead Alberta-Agustana by nine going into the second.
Both teams would trade buckets throughout the second quarter, but a layup with thirty second left in the half shortened the Argo lead to seven going into the break.
The Argos would take over in the third quarter starting the second half on a 25-2 run behind 13 points from Reggear to make it 58-31 with a minute left in the third.
Despite the Viking scoring the first six points of the fourth quarter, UP would pull away down the stretch defeating Alberta-Augustana 74-39.

Ashlee Maldonado added 21 points and nine assists as well.
The Argos will be back in action Dec. 17 when travel to Honolulu, Hawai'i for the Hoops in Hawai'i Holiday Classic. Tip off versus Indiana Tech is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (MDT).
