MARION, IND. – Competing in her third NAIA Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship at the Indiana Wesleyan Track Complex, McKenzie Clark saved her most impressive effort to date. The 3-time javelin National qualifier unleashed a season-best mark and captured the silver medal to finish second place, which is the best finish ever in school history. McKenzie had a throw of 46.85 Meters.
"The girls competition was awesome today. I was so happy for McKenzie and Coach Cress; it is the highest finish for a track and field athlete ever. They both earned it," Head Coach Tony Arntson said after the first day of competition at the National Championships.
Two other Argos competed Wednesday, Terra Bertsch and Allyson Conner. Terre tied for 11th place in pole vault and Allyson Conner finished 13th in the hammer throw.
The Argo men have Imhotep Pryor representing them in the men's discus on Thursday.  Calla Haldorson and Tatiana Martinez will conclude the National Championships when they battle in the women's discus throw on Friday.
