Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's soccer team faced off in a neutral site matchup against Ave Maria University Friday night. Despite falling behind 1-2 in the second half, the Argos (1-1) scored three unanswered goals to win 4-2.
The Argos jumped ahead in the 14
th minute when freshman
Jose Vasquez scored his first goal of the season and the first of his career.
The Gyrenes (0-1) answered back in the 34
th minute with a goal by Levi Orlando to tie it at one going into halftime.
Ave Maria University broke the tie with Levi Orlando's second goal of the game in the 54
th minute.
UP did not let the Gyrenes lead last for long as freshman
Eduardo Sidoine tied it back up with his first career goal 30 seconds later.
After a back and forth second half the Argos regained the lead with a goal from freshman
Rylan Pate in the 83
rd minute. This was Pate's first goal of the season and was also the first goal of his career.
UP did not let the Gyrenes get back into the game as freshman
Liam Vaux increased the Argo lead to two in the 88
th minute.

Will Hander on his team's performance stated, "I'm extremely proud of the guys. We bounced back from a tough trip in Arizona and got some scoring from our younger guys. We played well and are looking forward to getting back to training to prepare for Jamestown."
The Argos return to action Sept. 8 when they go back to Billings, Mont. to face The University of Jamestown. The first touch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
