Box Score CHENEY, Wash. – The University of Providence women's soccer team lost 16-1 to Eastern Washington University Thursday night.
The Argos (1-2) had a chance early with a shot by
Rane Jackson that was blocked by the Eagles (1-3) defense before reaching the goal.
Eastern Washington would score in the 2
nd, 10
th, 14
th,15
th, and 18
th minute to take a commanding lead over UP early in the first half.
The Argos would cut into the lead in the 54
th minute when freshman
Shea Waters put a lead pass into the box to create a one-on-one with the goalie for sophomore
Ernestina S. Ofori who would beat the keeper for her second goal of the season.
The Eagles would score four unanswered goals the rest of the way to defeat UP 16-1.
The Argos will be back in action on Sept. 4 when they travel to Helena, Mont. to face Carroll College in their final nonconference matchup of the year. The first touch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST).
