KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its honorees for the NAIA Scholar Team Awards as part of its annual NAIA National Awards day Friday.

The University of Providence had 15 programs earn the NAIA Scholar team award. The women's basketball, men's basketball, women's volleyball, women's soccer, men's soccer, softball, men's indoor and outdoor track, women's indoor and outdoor track, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's golf, women's golf, and men's wrestling team at UP were awarded.

Athletic director Doug Hashley stated, "I am extremely proud of our student athletes and coaches. Having 15 of our 17 programs earn Scholar Team recognition confirms that UP strives for excellence in the classroom first and pursues excellence in competition. This is another great day for the University of Providence."
