Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence women's soccer faced Multnomah University on a gloomy Friday afternoon.
The Lions (3-6) jumped out in front in the 11
th minute when a corner kick by Megan Castricum connected with Yesenia Lawson to beat the goalkeeper.
UP (2-4) would respond when freshman
Shea Waters found sophomore
Ernestina S. Ofori, but she was unable to get enough on the shot as it was saved by the Lions goalkeeper. The Argos were out shot six to three in the first half.
The Argos came out in the second half putting the pressure on the Lions and would find the equalizer on a corner kick by senior
Reilyn Davis that was batted around until senior
Grace Hipke found the back of the net for her first goal of the year.
Despite a late indirect kick by the Argos, neither team was able to score the go-ahead goal as the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Argos will be back in action on Sept. 23 when they host Warner Pacific University. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Argo Field.
