Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence volleyball program fell 3-1 to #11 Montana Tech Friday night.
In the first set the Orediggers (12-2) jumped out to an early 9-4 lead. Montana Tech would score eight of the next nine points to increase their lead to 11 and not look back taking the first set 25-18.
The second set saw the Orediggers score four of five points to take another 9-4 lead. UP (8-8) would respond by scoring three in a row behind kills by redshirt freshman
Cabry Taylor and senior
Jenna Thorne to make it 16-15. The set would see five more ties until kills by juniors
Allyah Tokelau and
Nina Janjic put away Montana Tech 25-23.
The third set was back and forth until the Orediggers scored eight of 10 points to take a 13-8 lead. Montana Tech would maintain that advantage taking the third set 25-17.
The fourth set was more of the same with nine ties before the Orediggers scored 11 of 13 points to take the set 25-21 and the match 3-1.
The Argos will be back in action Sept. 27 when they visit Montana State University Northern. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Havre, Mont.
