Argos Fall to Eagles

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's soccer program fell to Northwest University 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles (4-7-5) scored the first goal of the game in the 26th minute, but 30 seconds later the Argos (2-13) found the equalizer when senior Vincent Stoppel's cross found senior Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld who headed it past the goalkeeper.

The Argos had shots by Schmalfeld, freshman Noah Watson, and sophomore Ryan Baldwin the rest of the half, but Northwest University would add a goal in the 41st minute as UP went into the break trailing 2-1.

Northwest University added a goal in the 80th minute, and despite late shots from senior Marcus John and Schmalfeld, the Argos fell to the Eagles 3-1.
