11/4/2024 4:09:00 PM

HELENA, Mont. – After leading the Argos to wins over #15 Montana Western and Carroll College, junior Bella Thompson and senior Ava Saiers have been named Frontier Conference Players of the Week.

Head coach Arunas Duda on his athlete's performance stated, "I am so happy for these two as they were able to lead us to a successful week that was chalked full of distractions and potential pitfalls. Both of them played great defense and truly stepped up in some big matches against two good teams!"

Thompson is a setter from Kapahulu, Oahu and totaled 32 assists in the sweep over #15 Montana Western and 54 in the Argos 3-1 victory over Carroll to average 12.29 assists per set on the weekend. Thompson is currently #2 in the NAIA in assists per set and leads the conference in both total assists and assists per set.

This is Thompson's eighth setter of the week award this season and 10th of her career after taking home the award twice her freshman season. With her eighth award this season, Bella set a new single season program record previously set by Cydney Finberg-Robert's 2021 season where she earned seven setter of the week awards.

Saiers is a Libero from Valley Springs, Calif. and totaled 23 digs in the sweep over #15 Montana Western and 32 in the Argos 3-1 victory over Carroll to average 7.86 digs per set on the weekend.

Saiers is currently third in the conference in digs per set with 5.70 and this is Saier's second Defender of the Week award this season after taking home the award on 10/7/24.

The Argos will be back in action Nov. 7 when they host MSU-Northern. Gametime is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont.
