GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence volleyball program hosts Montana State University-Northern, The Evergreen State University, and Ottawa University Arizona for The Gibson Hotel Volleyball Classic sponsored by Holiday Motor Coach on Aug. 23-24.   

Last Time Out

The Argos won all four of their matches at the Big Sky Challenge including the five-set thriller against Our Lady of the Lake. UP had a dominant set score of 12-3 on the weekend defeating Life Pacific, Doane University, Our Lady of the Lake, and Embry-Riddle who was receiving votes in the NAIA top 25 poll. Sophomore Bella Thompson recorded 158 assists and 10.60 assists per set which are both top five in the NAIA and earned her the Frontier Conference Setter of the Week.

Stat Leaders
The Argos lead attacker so far this season has been sophomore Cabry Taylor. Taylor has 39 kills so far this season which places her 3rd in the Frontier Conference. Junior Sadie Lott is also in the top five in the conference with 36 kills and senior Nina Janjic is second in the conference in kills per set with 3.40. Sophomore Bella Thompson is currently leading the conference in total assists with 159 and is also top five in the NAIA in both total assists and assists per set with 10.60. Defensively, Taylor is second in the conference in both total blocks and blocks per set with 21 and 1.4 while senior Ava Saiers is second in the conference in digs with 82.

The Evergreen State University
The Argos are 5-0 in their last five matchups with the Geoducks including their 3-0 victory at the Big Sky Challenge last season. UP will be The Evergreen State's season opener when they matchup at 1 p.m. on Aug. 23. The Argos and the Geoducks will have another match on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m.  
 
Ottawa University Arizona
This will be the second matchup in program history against the Spirit with the Argos winning the lone matchup back in 2021 in a five-set thriller in Surprise, Ariz. Ottawa Arizona will play their season opener versus the Geoducks prior to facing the Argos at 7 p.m. on Aug. 23.
