GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence volleyball program travels to Omaha, Neb. for the CSM Labor Day Classic on Aug. 30-31. The Argos will face #2 Northwestern, #6 Midland, #16 Indiana Kokomo, and Grand View University.
Last Time Out
The Argos went 3-0 at The Gibson Hotel Volleyball Classic sponsored by Holiday Motor Coach defeating The Evergreen State College twice and Ottawa University Arizona. After their stellar performances, junior
Bella Thompson earned her second straight Frontier Conference Setter of the Week award and senior
Nina Janjic took home her first career Attacker of the Week award.
Stat Leaders
The Argos lead attacker so far this season has been senior
Nina Janjic. Janjic has 72 kills so far this season which places her second in the Frontier Conference. Junior
Bella Thompson is currently leading the conference in total assists with 293 and is also in the top five in the NAIA in both total assists and assists per set with 11.27. Defensively, Taylor is third in the conference in both total blocks and blocks per set with 33 and 1.27 while senior
Ava Saiers is third in the conference in digs with 150.
#2 Northwestern College
The Argos are 2-1 in their last three matchups with the Raiders defeating them twice before falling last season at the CSM Labor Day Classic. Northwestern is 7-0 so far this season and were ranked #2 in the preseason NAIA poll.
#6 Midland
The Argos are 0-2 in their history versus the Warriors with the last matchup taking place in 2022 in Butte, Mont. Midland is 2-5 so far this season after being ranked #6 in the NAIA preseason poll.
#16 Indiana Kokomo
This will be the first matchup in program history between the Argos and the Bobcats. Indiana Kokomo is 6-2 so far this season after being ranked #16 in the NAIA preseason poll and have picked up a pair of ranked wins over #6 Midland and #1 Indiana Wesleyan so far this season.
Grand View University
The Argos are 0-2 in their history versus the Vikings with the last matchup taking place in 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa. Grandview is 1-3 so far this season and are coming off a five-set loss to the College of Saint Mary their last time out.
