PORTLAND, Ore. –
The University of Providence men's soccer program fell to Multnomah 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Argos (3-4) had the first chance of the game, but sophomore
Liam Vaux's shot went just high of the goal.
A few minutes later the Lions (3-5) scored to go ahead 1-0 and in the 23
rd minute Multnomah extended their lead to two when Isaez Lopez found the back of the net.
The Argos came out in the second half with a pair of shots from seniors
Bryan Olivera and
Geovanni Lugo, but both were saved by the Lions goalkeeper.
Both sides would go back and forth the rest of the way, and despite a late goal from Jose Gonzalez, the Argos fell to Multnomah 2-1.
The Argos will be back in action Oct. 4 when they host Bushnell University. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont.
