GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball team heads to Helena, Mont. for the Frontier Conference opener on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. versus Carroll College at the PE Center.
 
Last Time Out
The Argos went 2-0 at the Green and Gold Classic defeating Dickinson State 89-86 (OT), and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology 80-56. Senior Jamil Bowles was named the Frontier Conference Player of the week after scoring 26 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the Argos overtime victory against the Blue Hawks.
 
Stat Leaders
The Argos leading scorer so far this season has been senior Jamil Bowles who is averaging 16.1 points per game. Bowles is also leading the team in rebounds with 8.8 per game. UP has three others averaging double figure scoring in senior Mike Wright Jr. with 13.1, senior Antoine Boyd Jr. with 12.7, and junior Ryan Chavez with 10.5. Defensively Boyd Jr. leads the way with 1.9 steals per game and also has the team high in assists with 2.5 per game.
 
Carroll College
The Fighting Saints have started their 2024-2025 season 5-8 after being picked to finish last in the Frontier Conference. The Argos have lost three in a row at Carroll College with their last win in Helena coming on 1/12/23.
