KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The University of Providence women's soccer
program fell to Oregon Tech 1-0 Friday afternoon.
The Owls (7-3-2) had the first opportunity of the game with a pair of shots in the first six minutes, but both went wide of the goal.
The Argos (4-4-2) answered with two shots of their own from senior
Kailey Camper and sophomore
Chloe Pajaro, but both were saved by the Oregon Tech goalkeeper.
Oregon Tech had a free kick from just outside the box in the final three minutes, but neither side could find a go-ahead goal as the Argos went into the break tied at zero.
The Owls pressured out of halftime with a couple shots wide of the goal, but the Argos answered with a shot from sophomore
Peyton Schmauch on frame, but it could not get past the Oregon Tech goalkeeper. Â
Oregon Tech added a goal in the 71
st minute, and despite late pressure from the Argos, UP fell to the Owls 1-0.
The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Ashland, Ore. The first touch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST) versus Southern Oregon.
