GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's soccer
program fell to Eastern Oregon 4-0 Friday night.
The Mountaineers (11-0-4) had the first opportunity of the game when in the 11
th minute a deep ball from Eastern Oregon connected with a Mountaineer attacker and he chipped it past the retreating goalkeeper to go ahead 1-0.
Just over 10 minutes later Eastern Oregon extended their lead to two off a free kick from 35 yards out that went over the outstretched hands of the Argos (3-10-2) goalkeeper to give the Mountaineer a 2-0 edge.
Neither side threatened the rest of the half as the Argos went into break trailing 2-0.
The Mountaineers added two goals in the second half, and despite a late shot from sophomore
Marius Lemmerer, UP fell to Eastern Oregon 4-0.
The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 24 when they head to Caldwell, Idaho. The first touch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (MST) versus The College of Idaho. Â Â Â Â Â
