Argos Fall to MSU-Northern in Frontier Conference Opener

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball program fell to MSU-Northern 98-82 Thursday night.

The Lights (4-1) scored the first baskets of the game but a jumper from senior Brendan Redhead on the other end tied the game at two.

MSU-Northern quickly extended the lead out to six and both teams would trade baskets until five straight from the Argos (0-6) brought the game within two.

The Lights answered with an 8-0 run to put MSU-Northern in front 38-28 but the Argos slowly fought back with a three from junior Marvel Chambers Jr. at the buzzer to go into halftime trailing 45-40.

Both teams went back-and-forth to begin the second half until a 14-2 run from the Lights gave MSU-Northern a 67-50 edge.

The Argos were unable to get within 10 the rest of the way as UP fell to MSU-Northern 98-82 in the Frontier Conference opener.

Four Argos reached double-digit scoring in Chambers Jr. with 21, Redhead added 15, and freshman Anthony Hobbs and senoir Jakub Lloyd tallied 10 apiece.

The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 15 when they host Northwest University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (MST) in Great Falls, Mont.
