Argos Begin NAIA National Tournament Pool Play Wednesday

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's volleyball team heads to Sioux City, Iowa for the Final Site of the NAIA National Tournament. The Argos will face #19 The College of Idaho on Wednesday and #11 Mount Vernon Nazarene on Friday in Pool Play.

Last Time Out
Following their Frontier Conference Championship victory over #6 Bellevue, the Argos defeated Northwest University 3-1 to advance to the Final Site of the NAIA National Tournament for the second consecutive season

Stat Leaders
The Argos were anchored by an attack by committee with four hitters reaching 250 kills so far this season. Senior Bella Green led the way with 277 kills for 3.15 per set, junior Martyna Fiedler tallied 257 for 2.54 per set, junior Cabry Taylor averaged 2.35 kills per set while hitting .313, and senior Sadie Giles averaged 2.25 kills per set while playing all six spots.
 
Running the offense in a 5-1 system is senior Bella Thompson who is third in the NAIA in assists per set with 11.50 after being named the Frontier Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season. Defensively, junior Cabry Taylor is currently ninth in the NAIA in blocks per set with 1.32 while junior Kyra Saiers and Giles lead the Argos with 5.41 and 4.13 digs per set, respectively.   
 
The College of Idaho
The Yotes were ranked #16 in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll after finishing their regular season 19-10 overall and 12-8 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The College of Idaho received the #20 National Seed and defeated Bethel College 3-0 in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament to advance to the Final Site in Sioux City. The Argos are 2-2 in their history versus The College of Idaho and 0-1 in Sioux City falling in the lone matchup 3-0 in 2018.
 
Mount Vernon Nazarene
The Cougars were ranked #12 in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll after finishing their regular season 26-8 overall and 14-4 in the Crossroads League. Mount Vernon received the #11 National Seed and defeated the University of Rio Grande 3-0 in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament to advance to the Final Site in Sioux City. This will be the first matchup in program history between Mount Vernon and the Argos when they face off on Friday.
