GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball program fell to Montana Western 100-94 in overtime Saturday evening.

The Bulldogs (15-11) scored the first three points of the game, but the Argos (14-12) answered back with a three of their own from senior

Montana Western was able to build a five-point lead but the Argos responded with a jumper from Wright Jr. and three from senior
Antoine Boyd Jr. to tie the game at 25 with just under 10 minutes to go in the half.

Both teams went back and forth but an 11-2 run by the Bulldogs gave Montana Western a nine-point lead with three minutes remaining.

The Argos immediately answered ending the half on their own 14-2 run after a mirage of threes from senior
Jamil Bowles and junior
Ryan Chavez to give the Argos a 41-40 lead heading into the break. Wright Jr. led all scorers with 12 points in the first half.

The Bulldogs scored the first points of the second half with a fast break dunk but after an and one three from Wright Jr. and jumper from Bowles the Argos took a six-point lead early in the second.

UP went on another 12-3 run polished off with a breakaway dunk from Bowles to give the Argos a nine-point lead midway through the half.

The Bulldogs would not go away as they were able to claw back and take a 79-78 lead with two minutes to go.

Both teams traded buckets the final two minutes with big time free throws from Boyd Jr. and senior
Nikolajs Atanasovs, but the Bulldogs kept responding leaving the game tied and headed to overtime at 85.

The Bulldogs scored the first six points of overtime, and despite late pressure from UP, the Argos fell to Montana Western 100-94.

The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 20 when they travel to Havre to face off against MSU-Northern. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Armory Gymnasium.
