Argos Host NAIA First & Second Round

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's basketball team hosts the First and Second Rounds of the NAIA National Tournament on March 14-15 in Great Falls, Mont. The Argos will face The College of Idaho Friday at 5:00 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
The Argos won their second straight Frontier Conference Tournament by defeating Carroll College 59-55 in the semifinals and Rocky Mountain College 69-50 in the championship. After their impressive seasons leading the Argos, Keanna Salave'a and Ashlee Maldonado were both named first team all-conference. 
 
Stat Leaders
The Argos leading scorer so far this season has been Keanna Salave'a who is averaging 16.4 points per game. Ashlee Maldonado is not far behind averaging 15.5 points per game and is also leading the team in assists with 5.4 per game. Salave'a is the leading rebounder with 10.4 per game and Maldonado has the team high with 1.9 steals per game.
 
College of Idaho
The Yotes earned an at large bid holding an overall record of 17-12 after going 14-8 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The College of Idaho is coming off a loss against #3 Southern Oregon 66-46 in their most recent contest and the Argos defeated the College of Idaho earlier this season 71-61 in Helena. 

Georgetown (Ky.)
The Tigers earned an at large bid holding a 20-8 overall record and a 6-6 record in the Mid-South Conference. Georgetown College is coming off an 84-58 loss to the University of Bethel in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament prior to their NAIA First Round matchup.

Jamestown
The Jimmies earned an at large bid after going 19-10 overall and 7-8 in the North Star Athletic Association. Jamestown is coming off a 65-59 loss against #8 Dakota State University in the NSAA Conference Championship. 

NAIA First and Second Round
Following the matchup between #5 University of Providence and #12 Jamestown, the four seed Georgetown (Ky.) will match up against the 13 seed University of Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. in the McLaughlin Center. The winners of each respective matchup will compete on Saturday for a spot in the NAIA National Championships final site in Sioux City, Iowa.
