GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's volleyball team heads to the Big Sky Challenge on Aug. 22-23 in Butte, Mont. for the season opener.
The Argos were ranked #10 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll and picked to finish second in the Frontier Conference behind 2024 NAIA Runner-Up #2 Bellevue.
Head coach
Arunas Duda is entering his 22nd season at the helm of the program that he has led to six Frontier Conference Championships and nine top 25 finishes.
Duda on the season opener stated, "We're fired up to head to Butte this weekend and finally get our season underway. This group has been grinding; putting in the time, the effort, and the work it takes to compete at a high level. We're returning a strong core from our 2024 squad, but this is a new team with new challenges, and we're embracing that. We've scheduled a tough preseason because we want to test ourselves early against some of the top programs in the country. It's all part of the process to prepare for another shot at the national tournament. These teams will show us what we need to improve on and what some of our strengths and weaknesses are so that we can get better before our conference season begins."
The 2025 University of Providence team has many impactful returners including two-time All-American
Sadie Giles, 2024 first team All-American setter
Bella Thompson, and first team All-Conference middle-blocker
Cabry Taylor.
The Argos will head to the Big Sky Challenge on Aug. 22-23 where they will face #21 Nelson University and #5 Eastern Oregon on Friday, and The Evergreen State College and Taylor University on Saturday.
