Argos Head to California for Season Opener

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's soccer program heads to California for a trio of games to open their season.

The Argos under first year Head Coach Lindsay Smith competed in four scrimmages in the preseason and will begin their season with three games in three days to finish out their non-conference schedule. The Argos will face Hope International University on Monday in Fullerton, Calif., Soka University of American on Tuesday in Aliso Viejo, Calif, and Caltech on Wednesday in Pasadena, Calif.

The 2025 University of Providence team has many impactful returners in captains Shea Waters, Angel Jessen, Kailey Camper, and Te'a Knighton. UP also returns sophomores Chloe Pajaro, Peyton Schmauch, Holly St. Germain, Brooklyn Poole, and Andriah Watson who all had meaningful playing time in 2024.

Hope International
The Royals finished their 2024 season with a 14-4-2 record and advanced to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament where they fell in penalty kicks to Westcliff University.  This will be the third matchup in program history between the Argos and the Royals with Hope International winning both matchups in 2007 and 2010.

Soka University
The Lions finished their 2024 season with a 9-5-1 record and are 0-0-1 so far this season tying Vanguard University 0-0. This will be the third matchup in program history between the Argos and the Lion with UP winning both matchups in 2010 and 2012.

Caltech
The Beavers finished their 2024 season with a 3-12-1 record and will be opening their 2025 season with the Argos on Sept. 3. This will be first matchup in program history between the Argos and the Beavers.
