GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball team fell to Montana Tech 88-58 Saturday night.
The Orediggers (21-7) scored the first basket of the game and following a jumper on the other end from sophomore
Quinn Swanson, a layup from the Orediggers put Montana Tech ahead 4-2.
Each side would add a few baskets but a 9-0 run from the Orediggers put Montana Tech ahead 19-9 midway through the half.
The Argos (5-23) answered with a three-pointer from senior
Brendan Redhead and a dunk from senior
Jakub Lloyd but a pair of baskets from the Orediggers gave Montana Tech a 25-16 edge.
The Argos slowly cut into the lead the rest of the half with a hook shot from senior
Britt Murray cutting the deficit to 34-27 at halftime.
The Orediggers slowly pushed the lead out to 22 over the first eight minutes of the second half, and despite a late basket from junior
Jacob Buchignani, UP fell to Montana Tech 88-58.
