Ethan DeRoche and junior
Pig Hobbs at the NAIA National Tournament on Saturday.
Hobbs fell to #1 John Wiley 11-2 in the quarterfinals but rallied to defeat #6 Ben Miller 9-8 to secure his second career All-American status. Hobbs then got revenge on #7 Avant Stepherson from the CCC Tournament, pinning him in 1:45 to advance to the consolation semifinals tomorrow.
DeRoche fell to #6 Antonio Garcia 7-2 in the quarterfinals but rebounded to defeat #15 Emmett Bivens to earn his first career All-American status.
Seniors
Kobi Johnson,
Blaze Sumiye, and junior
Jalen Vladic all advanced to the blood rounds but came up short of All-American status.
The Argos will be back in action tomorrow for the NAIA National Tournament in Wichita, Kansas. Wrestlers will begin at 10:00 a.m. (MST) at the Heartland Credit Union Arena.
