DICKINSON, N.D. -- The University of Providence softball program finished in third place at the Frontier Conference Tournament falling to Dickinson State 8-7 and Bellevue University 7-3 Saturday afternoon.
 
In the first game of the day, the Argos (29-24) scored the first run of the contest in the top of the first when a double-steal scored junior Kasidy Yeoman from third.
 
The Blue Hawks (39-12) added six runs in the bottom of the third but in the top of the fourth a SAC fly from junior Alix Bishop and an RBI double from junior Kaily Gull brought the game within three.
 
The Argos continued their momentum with a solo home run from junior Tehneson Ehnes in the top of the fifth, and UP did not stop there with a bases loaded walk from junior Ella Galloway and a pair of infield singles from freshman Aleana Aionaaka and Yeoman to give the Argos a 7-6 lead heading into the seventh.
 
Dickinson State put a pair of runners on to begin the bottom of the seventh, and despite three hitless innings from sophomore Madison Moultray, the Blue Hawks hit a walk-off two-run double to right field as UP fell to Dickinson State 8-7.
 
In the second game of the day versus Bellevue University the Bruins (25-28) scored the first runs of the contest, adding two in the top of the second, one in the top of the fourth, and one in the top of the fifth to take a 4-0 lead.
 
The Argos slowly chipped away with an RBI single from Galloway in the fifth and a fielder's choice from junior Erin Bishop in the sixth to cut the Bellevue advantage to 4-2 heading into the seventh.
 
The Bruins added two home runs in the seventh inning to take a 7-2 lead, and despite an RBI from Yeoman in the bottom of the seventh, UP could not complete the comeback as the Argos fell to Bellevue University 7-3.
