GREAT FALLS, Mont, -- Head coach Michael Claxton has announced the addition of thirteen players that will be attending the University of Providence and playing basketball for the Argos. They join eight total returners who all had experience in 2025-2026.
"Our coaching staff is looking forward to developing a connected and cohesive group of men who are focused on establishing a standard of winning excellence at the University of Providence. We primarily targeted experienced recruits with character, who are coming from winning junior college programs, combined with a group of young talented athletes who signed prior to our arrival. This recruiting class will provide much needed size, athleticism, and depth, to help strengthen the core of returning leaders who are hungry for more success. Our sights will be set on competing week in and week out, ultimately working to earn a spot in the 2027 Frontier Conference Tournament."
Transfers
Jai Ackey – 6'4 – F – Carrollton, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern
Jai transferred to the University of Providence in January of 2026 from the University of Tennessee Southern. Ackey spent the second half of the 2025-2026 season practicing with the Argos before making his debut in 2026-2027.
Tre Barnett – 5'11 – G – Milwaukee, Wis. – Dakota State University
Tre averaged 22.1 points and 4.2 assists at Milwaukee Marshall High School prior to attending Dakota State University for the 2024-2025 season. Following a year off, Tre transferred to the University of Providence for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
Kuich Gatwech – 6'8 – F – Melbourne, Victoria – Dawson Community College
Kuich averaged six points and 3.5 rebounds per game at Dawson Community College throughout the 2025-2026 season. Gatwech was a part of the Region and Conference Championship teams and was also the Mondak Tip Off Tournament Champion.
Brady Greene – 6'7 – F – Thorton, Colo. – Northeastern Junior College
Brady averaged a double-double at Horizon High School where he was a two-time first team All-Conference selection. Following two seasons at Northeastern Junior College Greene transferred to the University of Providence with two years of eligibility remaining.
Ty Holleman – 6'8 – F – Lyden, Wash. – Scottsdale Community College
Ty was a three-time State Champion at Lynden High School before attending Scottsdale Community College. Following two season where he was the Team Captain, Ty transferred to the University of Providence for the 2026-2027 campaign.
Kai Johnson – 6'3 – G – Inglewood, Calif. – El Camino College
Kai averaged 20 points per game while being a three-time All-Conference athlete at Highland High School. Following his high school career, Johnson averaged 15.5 points per game and was a two-time All-Conference selection at El Camino College.
Troy Hugs – 6'2 – G – Hardin, Mont. – Dawson Community College
Troy was a two-time All-Conference selection at Gallatin High School helping lead the Raptors to their first State Championships. Hugs transfers to the University of Providence with two years of eligibility remaining after spending two seasons at Dawson Community College.
Max Mayo – 6'1 – G – Stanwood, Wash. – Bellevue College
Max was the Male Athlete of the Year at Stanwood high school before attending Bellevue College for two seasons where he averaged 10 points per game and was a two-time All-Defensive team, second team All-Region, and led the team to a 29-3 record.
Robert Reagan – 6'1 – G – United Tribes Technical College
Robert spent two seasons at the United Tribes Technical College where he averaged 9.7 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 35.7% from three.
Incoming Freshmen
Rylan Hearns – 6'5 – F – Las Vegas, Nev. – Arbor View High School
Rylan was the team captain at Arbor View High School where he averaged 17 points per game and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Dylan Kunz – 6'2 – G – Kailua, Hawaii – Kailua High School
Dylan was a four-year letter winner at Kailua High School where he was top 10 in the state in three-point shooting, was named second team All-Conference, and led his team to the first Conference Championship in 42 years.
Phillip Rohrer – 6'0 – G – Conrad, Mont. – Conrad High School
Phillip competed in basketball and track at Conrad High School before deciding to attend the University of Providence in 2026-2027.
Jake Strand – 6'5 – F – San Clemente Calif. – San Juan Hills
Jake graduated from San Juan Hills in 2025, and following a year off, will attend the University of Providence with four-years of eligibility remaining.
