GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's soccer program defeated #25 Warner Pacific 1-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Knights (2-3-2) controlled the game out of the jump getting off four shots over the first 20 minutes, but the Argos (2-3-1) answered in the 29
th minute when a cross in from sophomore
Eduardo Brito went off the goalkeeper to
Geovanni Lugo who found the back of the net to put UP in front 1-0.
Warner Pacific maintained possession for the rest of the half, getting off four shots but were unable to find the equalizer as UP went into the break leading 1-0.
The Knights held the ball in the offensive zone for the majority of the second half, and despite getting off eight shots, junior
Andrew Schoenen picked up the shutout in goal as the Argos picked up their second Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the season 1-0.
The Argos will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 1 when they head to Olympia, Wash. for a matchup versus The Evergreen State College.
