Tyler Hurley is entering his second season with the Argos. Hurley helped the Argos to a 17-3 record in his first season as they captured the Regular Season and Conference Tournament Titles for the first time in over 30 years. Hurley’s responsibilities include day-to-day operations, recruiting, player development, academic progress and fundraising.
Coach Hurley got his college coaching start at Casper College under current Montana State assistant coach Dan Russell. During his time at Casper the Thunderbirds made 3 Region IX tournament appearances, including a Region IX championship game in 2015-16. The T-Birds had a record of 71-28 during that span.
Hurley has coached over 20 Division 1 players in his 5 years at the Junior College level, including Deante Strickland (Portland State) Region IX North Player of the Year and All- American, Wilfried Likayi (New Mexico State), Ryan Murphy (University of Pittsburgh), Gideon George (BYU), JoVon McClanahan (Hawaii), Antun Maricevic (South Florida)
A graduate of the University of Montana Western, Hurley played for Coach Keller from 2009-2012. During his time as a player, the Bulldogs qualified for three NAIA National Tournaments, making the “Sweet 16” twice. They were also the 2012 Frontier Conference Co-Champions. As a player, Hurley was named to the Frontier Conference 1st team in 2012.
