Ryan Bourque

Ryan Bourque joined the University of Providence as an assistant coach for the Argos cross country and track & field programs in August of 2026, bringing more than 20 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and club levels. His cross country and track coaching background include stops at Bethel College (NAIA), Southeastern Louisiana (NCAA Division I), and Metro State University (NCAA Division II), where he served as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach. His international experience includes managing Kenyan distance runners as a sports agent with International Sports Management, LLC, as well as operating his own business. He currently coaches multiple elite Kenyan distance runners, including Jackline Wambui, who won gold in the 800 meters at the 2017 IAAF World U18 Championships. He has also coached Kenyan national high jump champion Zeddy Chongwo, who currently competes for Oklahoma State University. 

Ryan completed his undergraduate studies in Health and Physical Education. He holds two Master's degrees one in Special Education and the other in Applied Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning. He is currently pursuing his Doctors in Education at Concordia University Chicago in , Leadership –Health & Human Performance program. He is certified through the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as an Endurance Event Specialist; Jumping Event Specialist; Sprint/Hurdle/Relay Event Specialist; and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Also, he is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist.
