Heather Blandford enters her fourth season as the head women's soccer coach at the University of Providence. Her previous college coaching experiences include seven years with Carroll College and 15 seasons coaching overall. Heather was also named the Montana State Youth Soccer Coach of the Year in 2019. Blandford has held a variety of coaching positions throughout the United States including Director of Coaching and Professional Trainer for Reno Sparks United Soccer Club, Olympic Development Program State Coach, and head coach for a variety of regionally ranked premier level club teams.
Heather, a native of Helena, Montana, attended Capital High School, where she was a four-year member of the girls’ varsity soccer program. She still holds a variety of Montana high school scoring records. Heather went on to play for The University of Montana, where she held the record as the all-time leading goal scorer for the Big Sky Conference for over 12 years. As the captain of the Grizzles she won multiple Golden Boot and offensive player of the year awards. Heather’s playing career continued at the semiprofessional level for the Mile High Mustangs.
In addition to coaching, Heather is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, as well as a veterinary technician with a special interest in orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation. Heather enjoys spending her free time with her husband Matt and children Caden and Ellie.
