Argo Soccer and Geoducks Play to 1-1 Draw

OLYMPIA, Wash. – The University of Providence men's soccer team earned their second draw of the season against the Evergreen Geoducks on Friday evening, 1-1.

The Argos outshot the Geoducks, 19-16, with seven on goal. Providence also led in corner kicks with five to Evergreen's four.

Evergreen State got on the board first as they scored off a cross to tap in at the far post and take the lead in the 36th minute, 1-0.

The Geoducks held the advantage heading into the break.

The Argos couldn't get anything to fall for most of the second period, but the Argos got a break in the 82nd minute as Alex Williams netted a penalty kick to tie up the match at one, 1-1.

Neither teams would find the back of the net for the two overtime periods as the game eventually ended in a draw.
