OLYMPIA, Wash. – Argo women's soccer fell in overtime to the Evergreen State College Geoducks on Friday afternoon, 3-2.
The Argos got on the board first as
Jenni Qualm crossed a ball to
Malena Lennon who netted at the far post to put the Argos on top in the 18
th minute, 1-0.
Eme McLaughlin tacked on some insurance for the Argos as she netted her 15
th goal of the season in the 27
th minute to give Providence a two-point advantage.
The Argos maintained their lead following the first 45 minutes of play.
The Geoducks netted their first goal of the game in the 67
th minute to bring the game to a 2-1 Argo lead.
Time nearly ran out for the Geoducks, but they were able to garner one more goal with slightly more than one minute left to push the match into extra minutes, 2-2.
The Geoducks earned a free kick in the 92
nd minute to earn the win over the Argos, 3-2.
Eme McLaughlin led the Argos with four shots, while
Malena Lennon garnered three with both committing two on goal.
