BILLINGS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's soccer team (6-5, 5-3) were handed a 0-2 defeat on Sunday to the Rocky Mountain Battlin' Bears (10-2, 6-1).
Rocky led in shots during the opening half, 10-6, while the Argos led in saves, 6-1, in addition to corner kicks, 5-2. However, both squads remained scoreless heading into halftime.
Following the break, the Battlin' Bears notched their first goal of the game in the 48
th minute as Tulio Melo put Rocky on top, 1-0.
The Battlin' Bears added some insurance in the 59
th minute as Pablo Ferreira tallied their second goal of the match, which boosted Rocky to their 2-0 win.
The Battlin Bears held the advantage in shots through the match, 19-10, but the Argos led in saves, 9-3. Rocky also earned six corners to the Argos five.
