No. T-18 Women's Basketball Rolls Past No. 22 Firestorm, 100-87

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – No. T-18 Argo women's basketball (7-0) capped off their weekend with their second top-25 victory over No. 22 Arizona Christian (5-1) to capture their seventh-straight win.

Parker Esary tallied her fifth double-double on the season as she knocked down a team-high 27 points, while also collected 14 rebounds. Jenna Randich was the other Argo to surpass the 20-point threshold as she tallied 22 points, three assists, two rebounds, and a steal. Emille Maldonado also earned her first double-double on the season, scoring 14 points and dishing out 10 assists.

The Argos dominated their way to their seventh win of the season. The Firestorm's Courtney Christmas opened up the match with a layup to give them a 2-0 lead, but that would be the last time Arizona Christian would hold an advantage over the Argos for the remainder of the game. The Argos' Tristan Murphy netted two free throws to tie the game up at two, 2-2. The Argos went on a tear as they outscored the Firestorm 20-10 to take a double-digit lead over slightly more than six minutes of play, 22-12. The Argos continued to lay it on as they pushed their lead to 17 following two Murphy free throws, but a last second goal from Arizona Christian closed out the opening period, 32-17.

The Argos opened with an Esary layup to push the lead back to 17, 34-17. Over the next six minutes of play, the Firestorm fought back to outscore the Argos 19-11 to come back within single-digits, 45-36. However, the Argos responded with a three from Reed Hazard to push the advantage back to double-digits and eventually headed to the locker room up by 15, 56-41.

The third period opened up to a 9-2 Argo run to give Providence a 20-plus point lead, their largest lead of the game nearly four minutes into the period, 65-43. Arizona Christian battled back to bring the deficit back down to 15 before heading to the final 10 minutes of play, 72-57.

During the final quarter, the Argos scored nine to the Firestorm's five to push the Argos' lead back to 19, 81-62. The Argos would eventually take a 20-point advantage after a layup from Esary, 86-66, but the Firestorm could never find an answer to the Argos offensive prowess as the game would eventually end with a double-digit Argo advantage, 100-87.
