The Argos opened up the match to a 5-3 lead following three kills from Kelsey Shaver, one kill from Sydney Andersen, and a service error. The Bulldogs responded to take the lead, 7-5, but it was short-lived as the Argos would tie things up at 7 all. The Bulldogs would tally two more, but six unanswered from the Argos would help them retake the advantage and lead by four, 13-9. Providence maintained their four-point advantage to a 20-16 lead before tallying a 4-0 run to push the set to set point. The Bulldogs tallied one final kill, but a kill from Shaver sealed the Argos 25-17 victory.

The Bulldogs took command early in the second set as they took the early lead, 3-1. The Argos would then tie things up at 3-3, but that was the last time the Argos would get close to taking a lead in the set as the Bulldogs maintained their advantage to eventually outscore the Argos 5-2 to tie the match up at 1-1.

Providence kicked it into gear in the third set, as they took a 9-3 lead to open things up. Western eventually brought the deficit down to four, 13-9, but a Andersen kill sparked a 9-1 Argo run to give the Argos their first double-digit lead of the match, 22-10. A service error and attack error would give the Bulldogs two more, but the Argos tallied their final three to take back the advantage, 2-1.

The final set was a battle on both sides as the Argos took a 4-1 lead, but the Bulldogs wouldn't let the Argos take it that easy as they battled to a 11-7 Argo lead. Providence broke free in the later part of the set as they tallied 11 straight points to push their lead to 22-9. The Argos would outscore Western 3-2 to close out the set and take the four-set victory, 25-11.
