GREAT FALLS, Mont. – No. 20 Argo volleyball (19-9, 8-4) closed out their regular season in a three-set loss to the No. 8 Rocky Mountain Battlin' Bears (27-3, 12-0) on Saturday.

The Battlin' Bears began the match with a 7-1 run to take the early lead. Both teams battled evenly to a 17-9 Battlin' Bears advantage. The Argos cut the lead to four following a 7-4 lead that was sparked by a kill from
Ember Schwindt to bring the match to 20-16. Both squads tallied five more points to close out the opening set in Rocky's favor, 25-21.
Rocky took the lead again in the second, but the Argos battled to a 6-4 match early in the second. The Battlin' Bears garnered a 13-4 run to push their lead to 11, 19-8. The Argos outscored Rocky 7-6 in the later part of the set, but the Battlin' Bears were able to take a 2-0 advantage, 25-16.
The Battlin'Bears opened the first set with two points, but the Argos followed with three of their own to take a 3-2 lead. Rocky would retake the lead on a 4-1 run, but the Argos tallied two more to tie the match up at 6 all. The Argos continued their momentum with a 9-5 to take their largest lead of the match, 15-11. The Battlin' Bears responded with a 6-1 run to retake the lead, 17-16. Rocky outscored the Argos 8-3 to finish out the match and take the final set, 25-19.
Lauren Brown led the Argos offensively with a match-high 12 kills.
Averi Dyer garnered 15 digs for the Argos, in addition to tallying two blocks.
Paige Jensen collected 17 assists and Schwindt commanded the net with three blocks.
