PABLO, Mont. – Argo men's basketball dropped the Salish Kootenai Bison for their second matchup of the season, 122-75, this time on the road.
Salish Kootenai took the early lead as they went on a 6-0 run to open the game. The Argos responded with 19 straight unanswered to take a double-digit advantage over the Bison, 19-6. Providence continued to lay it on as they outscored the Bison 17-8 and after
Jacob Wetzel hit a three to extend the Argos lead to 22 points, 36-14. Another Argo run tallied outscored the Bison 15-6 to give the Argos a dominant 31-point lead, 51-20. Providence would maintain their huge lead headed into the break, 63-29.
In the 12
th minute of the second quarter, a layup from
Brandon Cotton pushed the Argos to a 41-point advantage as they continued to dominate Salish Kootenai. The Argos flexed their muscles in the second half as they maintained their 40-point lead and eventually took a 50-point advantage before the Bison hit a three with 22 seconds on the clock to close out the match with a 47-point victory, 122-75.
Cotton dropped a career-high 30 points in the dominant win. He also collected six rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal. Wetzel followed with 22 points, in addition to collecting four rebounds and a steal.
Jean-Frederic Daho tallied a double-double in the contest with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
