Six Argos Find the Net During Men's Soccer's 8-0 Win Over Walla Walla

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's soccer team got back in the win column as six Argos scored goals during an 8-0 win over Walla Wally University on Sunday morning.
 
During the first period, the Argos struck early as Gudmundur Gudmundsson passed a ball into the box and George Holloway got a one touch on the ball to knock it in and put the Argos on top first, 1-0.
 
The Argos brought the lead to two during the 11th minute as Holloway sent a ball to Adrian Gomez who dribbled through the defense to make a shot from six yards out. Less than one minute later, the Argos earned a corner kick and tallied their third goal of the match as Fernando Gutierrez headed the ball off the corner to put Providence up 4-0.
 
Providence claimed their fourth goal of the period after Gudmundsson put a through ball to Adrian Gomez, who was one on one with the goalie to push the lead to four, 4-0.
 
The Argos would attempt three more shots during the period, but they took the 4-0 lead into the break.
 
To open up the second period, the Gudmundsson earned his third assist of the match as Paulo Leonardo collected a ball and shot from the middle of the box to score near the right post in the 49th minute, 5-0.
 
Providence tallied their seventh goal of the match as Adrian Gomez sent a ball to Ole Cloppenburg, who headed the ball in from the left post to tack on another one for the Argos, 7-0.
 
Carlos Heredia turned in the Argos final goal during the 77th minute as Holloway sent a ball to right side of the goal and Heredia collected it and gave the Argos their eighth goal of the match.
 
The Argos led in shots with 22 and shots on goal with 16, in addition to corner kicks with 10. The Wolves led in saves with eight.
