GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo volleyball battled hard with Mayville State but fell to the Comets last night, 3-2.

The Argos took the first set in dominating fashion as they defeated the Comets to take an early 1-0 lead over the Comets. The second set was much more of a battle as the Comets battled from an early deficit to eventually tie things up at one as they earned the 25-21 victory. Set three proved to be much like the opening set as the Argos flexed their muscles to take the lead yet again, 2-1. The fourth set was yet another battle, but this time was controlled by the Comets. Mayville State kept battling to take a lead late into the set and the Argos just couldn't catch up as the game moved to a final fifth set, 2-2. The Argos showed that they could take the win as the Argos lead 7-6 in the middle of the match, but the Comets came on at the end to take the win, 15-13.
Sydney Andersen led the Argos with 19 kills, followed by
Kelsey Shaver with 17, and
Lauren Brown with 11. On the defensive end,
Ember Schwindt knocked back 7 balls, while Andersen collected 6 and Shaver notched 5.
Paige Jensen led the match with 59 assists and
Averi Dyer did work on the defensive end with 28 digs.
