In the opening set, the Eagles took an early lead after a three-point run made it 4-2. Both teams fought back and forth as the Argos played from behind, but just couldn't find a break to catch up. A five-point run put the Eagles at their largest lead of the set, 18-9, but the Argos were able to bring it back within 4 after a five-point run of their own. The Eagles closed the set out with a 7-2 run to snag the lead, 1-0.

The Argos were fired up to begin the second set as they opened it up to a 3-0 lead. The Eagles would eventually tie things at three and the Argos would then come back from a deficit to tie the game up at nine. Two errors from Embry-Riddle sparked a 7-1 run to put the Argos up by their largest lead of the match thus far, 16-10. The Eagles then fought back with a run of their own to bring it back down to two, 17-15. The Argos were not going to let the Eagles get any closer and closed out the set on an 8-2 run to tie the match up at one.

Much like the preceding set, the Argos flew out of the gate to take an early 6-0 lead. Providence would never relinquish their lead as they would eventually hold a 18-9 lead. The Argos closed the set out with a kill from Shaver to cap off the third set and take a 2-1 lead in the match.

Another early rally from Providence opened the fourth set to a 5-2 Argo lead. The Eagles rallied back to tie things up at five and take the lead back from the Argos. Providence would play from behind for the rest of the set as the Eagles would continue to lead and eventually closed out the set on a 6-2 run to send the match to a final set, 2-2.

In the deciding set, the Argos once again played well early to lead the set 5-1. The Eagles responded and tied things up at five. The two teams traded points before the Eagles would tie the match up one last time at eight. The Argos struggled to find success at the end of the match as the Eagles claimed a 7-3 run to take the match.
